Baytown police have arrested a man who they say broke into a police community service building...oh, and that man was not wearing any clothes.
The Harris County District Attorney's Office charged Jesus Lopez with criminal trespass.
Lopez entered the building on West Defee Street near South Ashbel Street in Baytown through a second story window on Thursday, according to a statement released by the Baytown Police Department.
An off-duty officer went to the building to retrieve some items when he encountered Lopez, who was reported to be nude and had broken a water pipe. The broken pipe caused a flood into the hallways of the building.
Baytown police say Lopez destroyed city property in the kitchen of the building.
Lopez was taken to the Harris County Neuropsychiatric Center (NPC) for evaluation after his arrest on Thursday.
The damage is estimated at an approximate value of $40,000. The District Attorney's Office would not charge Lopez with the felony violation of criminal mischief because it ruled that Lopez did not intend to cause as much as damage as he did.
