Prostitution Sting in school zone

Posted: Updated:
HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

One would think this quiet small neighborhood with a school in East Harris County would be a great place to raise children. But before you move to Cloverleaf subdivision you should talk with long time resident Annette Avilez.

She says, "I've seen a lot. There are prostitutes all over the area all night."

Avilez says the kids have to endure what happens in their not so quiet community...one that's becoming more like the big city.

"We try to keep them in as much and limited the amount of time they're outside."

Harris County investigators were able to arrest these 6 individuals on prostitution charges Thursday in a sting. Five men and one woman. All accused of crusing the area for sex.

Those who have been arrested will face possibly enhanced criminal charges because their arrests happened near Cloverleaf Elementary. It's an area designated as a school safe zone.

Those parents who live in the area with children like Columba Flores says they're glad the Sheriffs office is on top of the case with the arrests Thursday.

Those who were arrested are identified as: Jennifer Darnell

Carlton Lewis

Julio Cortez

Ezequiel Muñoz

Gerardo Rodriguez-Zomora

Carmelito Reusora
