MARIETTA, Ga. -

A man who led police to a teen murder suspect took the stand today in the Brunswick baby murder trial.  The defense told jurors that the man faces armed robbery charges himself, and shouldn't be believed.

DeMarquise Elkins, 18, is on trial for allegedly murdering a baby during a robbery attempt in March.  Late Thursday night, the defense rested its case, and Elkins did not take the stand.

Argie Brooks is the man who broke the Brunswick baby case wide open. Brooks told police he believed murder suspect DeMarquise Elkins was the man who pulled the trigger.

The defense called Brooks to the stand on Thursday. He was living with co-defendant Dominique Lang's aunt. Defense lawyers were clearly hostile toward the self-proclaimed snitch, and implied jurors shouldn't believe anything Brooks says because he is being paid reward money in the case.

But Brooks, who faces an unrelated armed robbery charge, defended himself, saying money doesn't matter.

Brooks ended his testimony telling jurors he has no deal on his pending, unrelated robbery charge.

Little Antonio's father, Louis Santiago, was the last to testify Thursday.  Defense attorneys grilled him about the moment he arrived at the hospital following the shooting, and met the boy's mother.

Earlier in the day, an expert on eyewitness identification told the court that the photo lineups shown to witnesses in the case were suggestive.  Georgia State University cognitive psychology professor Heather Kleider testified about the lineups shown to the baby's mother, Sherry West, and to two other men that Elkins is accused of trying to rob.

According to Kleider, the lineup shown to West was suggestive because not all the men in the photos had the same physical characteristics and not all of them matched a description given by West. She said the lineups given to two men had similar problems.

Jurors will hear closing arguments on Friday, and could have the case by mid afternoon.
