Pontiac Aztec driver leads police on chase

Houston police were in pursuit of a Pontiac Aztec for almost an hour. It started in Southwest Houston and ended in Northeast Houston. The chase began around 3pm on Mowery at Almeda with the suspect driving erratically and went through downtown Houston causing multiple near crashes. Eventually it moved into a railroad yard. The driver of the SUV drove onto the railroad tracks going into places that police cars couldn't go, and then eventually got back into a Northeast Houston neighborhood where the driver fled the vehicle and was run down and apprehended by the Houston Police department. The driver told police that he was running because he had outstanding traffic tickets.
