Man accused of screwdriver attack

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A Long Island man is accused of attacking another man with a screwdriver in Roosevelt Tuesday morning.

Nassau County police say Christopher Williams, 37,  of Roosevelt is charged with robbery and weapons possession. They say he got into an argument with a 50-year-old man over money.

Police say he swung the screwdriver at the man and then struck him in the neck, causing lacerations.

They say Williams then took the cash, a V.I.M. bag, belonging to the victim, which contained jeans and a shirt and fled the scene.

Police found Williams near Underhill Ave. and Babylon Turnpike and placed him under arrest.

The proceeds were recovered along with the screwdriver.  The victim refused medical attention
