Authorities: Man said he was headed to kill Grace

PHOENIX (AP) - A New York man indicted in Arizona on charges that he made Twitter threats against two national TV commentators over their Jodi Arias coverage told detectives he was on his way to kill 1 of them.

Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say David Lee Simpson of Bath, N.Y., told investigators Wednesday night after being booked into jail in Phoenix that he was on his way to kill Nancy Grace of Turner Broadcasting's HLN network.

Simpson faces three felony counts of computer tampering and two counts of stalking.

He did not yet have an attorney.

Authorities say he also threatened HLN's Jane Velez-Mitchell and a Phoenix woman via Twitter.

Arias was convicted of first-degree murder May 8 in the 2008 death of her boyfriend. The jury failed to reach a unanimous decision on life in prison or the death penalty.
