NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A Powerball ticket worth $1 million that was sold in Westchester County will soon expire, according to New York's Division of the Lottery.

Lottery officials are urging people to check if they have the ticket, which expires August 25, 2013, and come forward to claim their prize.

"We're hopeful the lucky winner has already signed the ticket and is making plans to claim it before it's too late," said Gardner Gurney, the acting director of the Division of the Lottery.

The lucky ticket was sold at Playland Market on Forest Avenue in Rye.

The winning numbers from the August 25, 2012, drawing were: 1, 6, 7, 20, 49, and the Powerball 23. Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

If you have the winning ticket, you should sign the back and contact lottery officials to claim your cash.

If no one claims the $1 million, the money will be returned to the prize pool for future winners, the Division of the Lottery said.
