Posted: Updated:

Fox 26 news has learned a warrant has been issued for a man in an animal cruelty case that left many shocked in Harris County.

It was back on July 13th when the suspect allegedly set a dog on fire and threw the white pit bull into a sewer at Ella Crossing in North Harris County.

The incident was captured on surveillance.

An arrest warrant has been issued after charges were filed against 26 year old Jacob Maurice Davis here in Houston.

He's accused of animal cruelty which is a felony.

Once Davis is arrested he will have a $10,000 bond.

We've also learned after the incident Davis' parents had him placed in a psychiatric hospital.

That's why he hasn't been arrested as of yet by investigators from Harris County.

While Davis is still in the hospital we're told he is expected to be in court Tuesday.
