MIAMI -

A Florida mother says the devil made her do it. Malory Pierre claims that that's reason she and her sister left four children in a running car while they went into a casino to gamble last Sunday evening.

Surveillance video inside of the south Florida casino shows Pierre, 27, and her sister -- 31-year-old Romaine Pierre -- playing the slots while the children -- all under the age of nine -- stayed in the car.

Outside, a person who noticed the children -- two boy and two girls; ages 8, 5, 4 and 2 -- left alone in the car called the police. The person had been at the casino and said they noticed the children in the car for about 20 to 30 minutes.

According to the police report, one of the children said, "My stepmother and her sister went inside and left us here."

The women initially told police that they had gone into the Players' Club casino to use the restroom. It was later confirmed that they'd checking into the casino and had gambled.

Now, Pierre says she's upset with herself for making the terrible decision.

Both she and her sister, of North Miami, Fla., are facing several counts of child endangerment. They have each posted bail on a $4,000 bond.

The sisters are under investigation by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

A judge returned custody of Malory's three children to her on Tuesday. The judge cited the mother had been remorseful and had no prior arrests.
