5 attack elderly woman inside Brooklyn home

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The hunt is on for five people who tied up an elderly woman and robbed her inside her apartment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

The 87-year-old woman opened the door after a woman rang the bell at about 6:30 p.m. on June 15. Four men forced their way into her home, according to cops.

One of the robbers was carrying a gun. The group stole jewelry before taking off.

Surveillance video released on Wednesday shows the group leaving the apartment building on Kingston Avenue near Empire Boulevard.

The male suspects are described as Black, 5' 7" tall to 6'2" tall. The female suspect is Black and approximately 5'1" tall.

    A NYPD plan intended to better connect with the community seems to have backfired a bit. The police department asked its twitter followers to share pictures of themselves with New York City police officers using the hashtag "myNYPD."
