The search is on for a suspect who fired at a motorist stopped at a southeast Houston stop light.
According to officers at the scene, around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, a driver was stopped at a traffic light on Lawndale near 75th.
A second vehicle pulled up beside the stopped car. Someone from that vehicle opened fire.
Police say two shots were fired. Both shots went through the driver's side door hitting the driver in the leg.
The driver managed to drive to a nearby CVS parking lot where two officers were parked.
The wounded driver was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition.
A motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
