World Naked Bike Ride in NYC

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Hundreds of cyclists bared it all for the "World Naked Bike Ride" in Brooklyn Saturday evening.

The annual scantily clad event took began in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and most of the participants didn't go the Full Monty like they have in other Naked Bike rides.

Some cyclists used strategically placed body paint while other wore pasties and hot pants.

The bike riders hit the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan to protest quality of life issues, such as the U.S. dependence on fossil fuels and to promote the human form with their bare bodies.

New York City law now allows women to go topless - but going bottomless usually frowned upon by the NYPD.

Organizers said no one has been detained or ticketed for going commando, but they do instruct riders to cover up to the minimum when approached by police.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
