Cheerios says it's sticking with a new ad that has prompted discussion about a lot things, besides 'cereal'.
The 30-second spot, posted on you tube, shows a little girl asking her mom about the value of a heart-healthy meal and then her father, sleeping on a sofa, with cheerios piled on his chest.
But comments on the clip have been disabled after a series of racist comments complaining about the white mom, African-American father and their bi-racial daughter.
When we shared the ad with some of you, no one saw a problem with it.
Halima Hawkins says, "I was raised not to judge people by their color or their skin or their ethnicity. If I re-watched it, I'd probably notice it. But I didn't until you said it"
A Houston ad-executive tells us the cast of characters is no mistake because it represents the changing and evolving face of cheerios' customers.
