Houston may be home to some very big businesses, but it's also welcoming place for entrepreneurs. The Small Business Administration lists 75% of the city's thriving small-business community as so-called 'micro-businesses', with a maximum seven employees.
As fans of fashion, recent college grads Joseph Chargois and Jermelle Pitts settled on cosmetics when they decided to go into business together.
Their new business, Body of Royalty, was launcehd three months ago, taking web-orders on a line of bold colored lipsticks.
They say there's a market confident women who want to make a statmenet with their makeup.
"We wanted to have something with a lot of color; a lot of pop," says Chargois, "Definately, fashion forward women who aren't afraid to rock a little color."
While the new business works out the kinks, they'll stick with the lipstick and plan to expand the product line in the future.
