Start with the basics: wetsuit, watercraft, FlyBoard.
On your dock, get set...soar.
Jetpack powered flying is the newest water sport to hit Lake Conroe. Rentals through South Texas FlyBoard started the first week in May. But what is a "FlyBoard?"
"If you've ever wanted to be Superman, it gives you the feeling of what it's like," said owner Ronnie Feise. "It gives you the experience of flying."
Feise and his high school sweetheart launched their business after researching the project for several months.
Blessed with natural ability, but saddled with a phobia, Feise has already mastered graceful dolphin dives and daring mid-air flips using removable steering handles.
"I'm scared of heights," he admitted before his demonstration. "You're above the water so it's very forgiving when you hit the water, unlike snowboarding or skiing . That ice tends to be harder than water."
His better half, Yolanda Baker, says the sport is gender friendly.
"I've had no problem doing it."
Baker doesn't even bother with the steering bars.
You have to be at least 18 years old to fly the board and have somewhat of an adventurous spirit- especially your first time around.
"You're coming out of the water and you're like ‘man, this is cool, but oh my gosh that's water down there'," she said. " But you get over it. It's not scary."
