65-year-old man is Emory's oldest graduate this year

Posted: Updated:

A 65-year-old man was the oldest graduate at Emory University this year.  Albert Wright earned his master's degree in public health during commencement ceremonies on Monday.

Wright is the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Administrator for the Fulton County Department of Health Services

After serving his country in the Armed Forces, the Vietnam veteran faced a different battle later in life. -- Wright was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Surviving that life-threatening illness only strengthened his resolve to obtain a master's degree.

Wright is a proud father of two sons who are also graduating college this year. His youngest son is a graduate of Columbus State and his oldest is a graduate of St. Leo University.
