High marks 'Frida & Diego' closing weekend

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta's High Museum of Art has a lot of activities planned for the closing weekend of its popular exhibition featuring the work of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.

"Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics, and Painting" runs through Sunday. To mark the end, the High will be open for 31 straight hours - from 10 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. Sunday.

The High also has special activities and events planned and says it expects large crowds. The special activities include: a Frida-inspired fashion show, salsa music and lessons, and lucha libre wrestling, among others.

Featuring more than 120 pieces, it is the largest exhibition ever of the couple's work shown together and includes about a quarter of Kahlo's total body of work.

The High was the exhibition's only U.S. venue.
