A freshman in the fledgling film program at Huntsville's Sam Houston State University lands an international honor.
Nineteen year old Chase Parker's short film, "Left Behind," has been accepted at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in Paris.
After flying out this Sunday, he will spend the following two weeks in France where his film will be screened by famed director Steven Spielberg.
"It's a dream come true, it really is," Parker told FOX 26 News. "It's an honor to be part of the Cannes Film Festival – it's just unreal."
Chase Parker lives in The Woodlands but he's got Hollywood in his veins. Both his parents – Rich and Andee Parker – began their careers as actors in film and television.
And Chase's grandmother happens to be Eleanor Parker, the three-time Oscar-nominated actress who starred alongside Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer in The Sound of Music.
Eleanor Parker already has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Can her grandson be far behind?
