Hillary Clinton to speak in Clinton, NY

CLINTON, N.Y. (AP) -

Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will speak at an upstate New York college this fall.

Hamilton College announced Friday that Clinton will give a free public lecture on the evening of Oct. 4 in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House in the village of Clinton, 40 miles east of Syracuse.

Clinton's appearance is part of the Sacerdote Great Names Series at Hamilton, named after Alex Sacerdote, a 1994 Hamilton graduate and current trustee of the liberal arts college.

Clinton, a former U.S. senator for New York, will be the fourth former secretary of state to speak as part of the series, following Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright and Condoleezza Rice. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, visited Hamilton in November, 2004.
