Westbound I-10 reopened after a several hour shutdown

The rain may have moved out of the Houston area for the majority of the commute, but that didn't stop a nightmare commute from unfolding for tens of thousands of motorist who travel Westbound on I-10.
Overnight thunderstorms made for slick roads that could have contributed to and 18-wheeler jackknife on Westbound I-10 at Houston Ave sometime after midnight.
According to the Houston police department the driver of the 18-wheeler was going to fast around the curve on the elevated portion of I-10 and lost control, jackknifed and slammed into the concrete walls.
The collision punctured the fuel tanks and sent diesel fuel all over I-10. As a result Westbound I-10 from the Southbound I-45 entrance to Houston Avenue was shut down for several hours during the morning commute.
