Houston Texans safety Ed Reed underwent arthroscopic surgery last week to repair a small tear in the labrum in his hip.
While Reed will not be available for the Texans offseason program, team officials fully expect him to be ready for training camp.
"This is something we will work through," said Gary Kubiak, Texans head coach. "We'll get Ed ready and he should be good to go.
"He'll miss the offseason program."
Kubiak said Reed's absence will mean more work for third-year veteran Shiloh Keo and rookie D.J. Swearinger during the Texans offseason program.
"This will be a good opportunity for the young safeties," Kubiak said. "They're going to get a lot of reps in the OTAs.
