Rihanna concert at Barclays postponed

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

With the Brooklyn Nets avoiding elimination from the NBA playoffs and forcing a game seven against the Chicago Bulls, the Rihanna concert scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.

In a statement to Rihanna's fans on Friday, Brett Yomark, CEO of Barclays Center, says he looks forward to a special concert next week.

"I want to apologize to Rihanna's fans for the inconvenience of having to reschedule her show at Barclays Center from Saturday, May 4 to Tuesday, May 7 due to Game 7 of the Brooklyn Nets-Chicago Bulls NBA Playoffs series. I want to thank Rihanna for working with us on this new date and for understanding what a Game 7 in Brooklyn means to the borough."

Tickets for Saturday's show will be valid on the new night. Refunds are also available from the seller.

Rihanna, 25, is a six-time Grammy award winner and has set the record for top-selling digital artist of all time.

The Barbados native kicked off her 27-city Diamonds World Tour on March 8 at Buffalo's First Niagra Center in New York.

The NYPD says they have identified the suspects for the major security breach that had white flags replace the American flags at the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the most highly secured landmarks in New York City, according to the New York Post. Police say they only know the suspects by nicknames, not their legitimate names. They are working on getting their names in order to bring the suspects in for questioning. The Post says nearly three dozen detectives were on the case.
