A video of a fight between three female family members and another woman has surfaced on video, days after it happened .on one side, 42-year old Regina Banks , her 18 year old daughter, and her 15 year old niece... They are squared off against a 19 year old woman. Caribbean Green says the three started it.
"They were talking about the other girl.. but the other girl didn't say anything.. she could've ignored it."
But she didn't and it escalated. You can see man in a gray sweatshirt intervene after the opening round of blows and the three family members got off the bus.. It wasn't over yet. The fifteen year old stands in the door of the bus that has now stopped along Braeswood. While the driver exits and calls dispatch, she and her mom and cousin try to get the other woman to come out and fight. Suddenly she snaps and shoved the teenager down by the neck. The three women pound her relentlessly. At one point Banks even tries to pull her off the bus...
On Caribbean's video and on it you can clearly hear this someone say "she's pregnant."
That's right, the fifteen year old girl fighting.. is three months pregnant.. three Interim Metro President and CEO Tom Lambert says officers were there within 7 minutes.. and issued tickets. Nobody wanted to press charges. He says police didn't know anyone recorded it.
"I'm smart enough to know the details need to be investigated now that this video has come forward. The police department needs to look at that in consultation with the Harris County District Attorney's office I'm not going to speak to the facts of that. They need to look at that".
Lambert says only 100 of the city's 12-hundred busses have video cameras. .and the says Braeswood route number 68 doesn't have because it's usually a quiet rout with just one other reported fight in 13 months. He praised the driver and the police and says they handled it well.. He also praised the man who intervened.. Caribbean says what happened after police arrived was the most shocking thing to her.
"The mom was saying my daughter is 15 and pregnant and she beat you up.. so she doesn't sound like a mother to me."
There were no serious injuries, and Lambert says nobody on the bus called 9-1-1.
