Most of the people we encountered in Cypress Station had no idea there was a man in their area accused of preying on women.
Janet Findley's daughter just moved to the area. She says, "no because my daughter and grand kids just moved over there and we didn't know anything about it."
That's despite the Harris County Sheriff's office posting this sketch on a billboard in March warning a man has been on the loose. He's accused of raping at least 7 women in an 18-month period.
Lt. Ruben Diaz with the Harris County Sheriff's office says, "he was actually at a cousin's house we got that from a tip from a surveillance team in the area. "
We can now put a face to the suspected serial rapist. He's identified as 25-year-old Charles Eric Davenport arrested Tuesday and behind bars.
But the probe is not over. Harris County investigators are also looking for Davenport's alleged accomplice in at least one rape. That accomplice, a woman.
Sheriff Adrian Garcia says, "she knew the suspect was looking for someone and that woman brought that victim to the paws of this predator."
Harris County investigators say Davenport targeted a specific group of women, Hispanic females around 18 years old who possibly worked as escorts.
While there are 7 documented cases with DNA tying Davenport to four, detectives believe there are more victims out there, victim's whose lifestyles may keep them from reporting their victimization.
"This suspect found these victims via escort services," says Sheriff Garcia.
Davenport has been charged with sexual assault in only one of the cases. In the meantime, Sheriff Garcia says if you have been victimized or know who the female accomplice is call the Harris County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers of Houston.
