Website claims Houston ranks 18th for sugardaddies

If you are looking for a man to take care of your financial needs apparently you are in the right place.

According to SeekingArrangement dot com, a website that specializes in connecting benefactors and those seeking benefits, Houston ranks number 18 when it comes to sugardaddies.

Leroy Velazquez is with seeking

"We call these mutually beneficial because both parties are satisfied when they engage in an arrangement," said Velazquez.

In Houston he says, there are 1.85 sugar daddies per every one thousand men. The average male member is 42 years old, makes more than $650,000 a year and is willing to spend more than $4,000 a month on their "sugarbaby."

"Men in Houston are slightly older than the national average but they make a lot more," he said.

That is attractive to the more than 1.8 million members who have joined the site and want to be taken care of.

"It just really depends on what they want ultimately in these relationships, whether it's paying for school, paying their bills, finding them a job," said Velazquez. But having these kinds of relationships, Psychotherapist Mary Jo Rapini says, could end up costing you more in the long run.

"If you are so worried about finances, then get a job, where you don't have to sacrifice some of the most important intimate things to you," she said.

It may sound seductive, Rapini says, the idea of having a stranger financially support you in exchange for companionship, but it could have long-term detrimental effects.

"It is a form of objectifying yourself of paying for a product and that happens to be a human being in this way a woman," she said.
