Braves Opening Day 2013

VIRAL VIDEO: Meet the "Beasts of the East"

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Just in time for Opening Day, a rap video that's all about the Braves has gone viral—and a talented group of local guys is behind it!  If you haven't met the "Beasts of the East" yet, here's your chance.

Aaron Chewning told FOX 5 Sports he and his buddies wanted to get Braves' fans pumped up for the 2013 season, but he never thought his "Beasts from the East" rap video would get so much attention.

"We were really just having fun with it and then were just going to put it out and see what happens. We did not expect any of this," Chewning said.

Their creation is all Braves, all Atlanta, and right now, it's all over the place.

Chewning posted the video on YouTube on Friday, and plenty of Braves fans are paying attention.  As of Monday afternoon, the "Beasts of the East" had more than 41,800 views on YouTube.

Aaron says he's not pursuing a career in the world of rap music.  But maybe he should be—especially with lyrics like these referencing last season's devastating Wildcard game loss to St. Louis:

"Infield fly, more like infield cry
When the Cards moved on, I almost infield died"

Since the video debuted last Friday, several Braves players have tweeted him, including third baseman Chris Johnson and pitchers Kris Medlin and Mike Minor.

"It's not every day that someone makes a song about you, so it's pretty cool," said Johnson.
