Manhunt for a Monster - Day Three

Posted: Updated:

The possibility that a 10 year old girl could have been kidnapped by complete strangers is bone-chilling and it should have everyone worried.

Stranger abductions are very rare but they do happen so it's understandable that the LAPD is working this case around the clock. This guy - or guys- have to be caught.

Not an easy job when your only witness is 10 and traumatized. Poor child. 12 hours of hell away from home with someone who wanted to and did hurt her.  And bad.

There's a special place in hell for people who hurt children. They've got a reserved spot.

About 40 detectives returned to the scene of the crime today and went door-to-door in hopes someone saw something that will lead them to these guys.

They're also looking at the registered sex offenders in the area. According to the California Megan's Law website, there are about 21 of them within a two mile radius of her home.

And then there's that other kidnapping.

The one where the girl's three cousins were abducted by their fathers back in 2008. After spending two years on the run they were found in the Netherlands. The boys returned to their mothers (one of whom is the girls Aunt) and the dad's went to prison. John and George Silah were released about six months ago.

You have to admit it's a bizarre coincidence - parental abduction or not, it's still a kidnapping and to have TWO kidnappings in one family, is plain weird.

I spoke to the attorney that represented the Silah brothers in that case and still speaks for them.

Matt Kohn told me, in no uncertain terms, and I quote:

"The Silah brothers had absolutely nothing to do with this. They have had no contact with their former wives. They're not even permitted to."

"It's not them", he said.

Meanwhile, the detectives working this case have had any days off they might have had planned cancelled.

No one is going anywhere until the bad guys go to jail. Good.
