Houston grow house bust nets $2 million in pot

Posted: Updated:

At first glance the 2 story home looked like any other in the subdivision.  A kept and tidy yard. What set it apart from the other homes on Bent Pine Drive and Sunshine Park in North Harris County was that it was being watched by drug agents from Harris County and the DEA.

Harris County Sheriff's Office and agents with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency told FOX 26 they have been closely monitoring the comings and goings at the home after a citizen complaint.

This morning the DEA along with the HCSO executed a search warrant inside and uncovered a large marijuana growing operation.

Nearly every room in the home was set up with fans and a hydroponics system and dozens upon dozens of marijuana plants.

There were enough plants to fill up the back of a pick up drug that drug agents hauled away.

HSCO say the street value of the marijuana is estimated at 2 million dollars.

A male who was at the home was arrested.  HSCO have identified him as 38 year old Daw Huynh.  He is charged with possession of marijuana between 50-2000 pounds in the form of plants.
