People all around downtown Houston are asking, 'What's up with the blue
trees?' Zooming by on Memorial Drive you can't miss the cluster of
crepe myrtles that just got a serious splash of color. Artist
Konstantin Dimopoulous paints trees with a biologically safe pigmented
water. The color naturally degrades over time.
It's color for a cause. He enlists the help of the community to raise awareness about how quickly trees are disappearing from the Earth.
"You look at something that in theory shouldn't be blue, and you think, 'Why is it blue?' That's the question i'm trying to raise. If you're not careful sooner or later the surreal may become the real," he said.
