If your plan includes some beach time this summer, remember to bring your wallet , I mean phone, if you plan to park along the Galveston Seawall.
Paid parking will be a reality this summer. The price will be $1 an hour but the price will not exceed $8 a day.
Apparently parking meters are so 2012.. so to pay to park you will have to use a mobile app, the internet or a mobile phone. Some select Seawall businesses will also take payment but they are still working out the fine print on those.
If you frequent the island for weekend get-aways you might want to just purchase a yearly pass for $25 bucks.
The paid parking will include both the north and south sides of the Seawall from 6th Street to 69th Street and 81st Street to 103rd Street.
Bargain hunters take note the area between 69th and 81st street will be free of charge.
