NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A body was found Wednesday inside a large house destroyed by a fire in Manorville, Long Island.

SkyFoxHD was over the charred structure where a message on the roof read, in part: 'We Won't Submit.' The word 'threat' was also scrawled on the roof.

Police officers and volunteer firefighters responded to numerous 911 calls reporting a fire at the home located at 218 Eastport Manor Road at 9:30 a.m.

When officers and firefighters arrived, they found Charles Woolsey outside the residence that was engulfed in flames.

Another person, who was found inside the residence, was pronounced dead at the scene.  A dog was also found dead in the home.

Woolsey, 68, a resident of the home, was transported unconscious to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The name of the victim who died was not released.

It is not clear what sparked the fire.  Arson and homicide investigators were called to the scene.
