The students are gone, most teachers are on vacation, and the campus of Spring High School is quiet during the break.

Then there's that controversy that hit parents at the school Monday like a sack of bricks. They received an email at home from Spring ISD notifying them of a criminal investigation. It involves 30-year-old Mark Steven West.

Until last week, West was an assistant principal at Spring High School until he was accused of an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to court records, West allegedly had sex with a female student during the 2011 - 2012 school year.

Investigators say it was an after prom event when the student who's now in college told West she was horny and wanted to have sex with him.

Investigators say the student and West ended up in his school office where they crossed that line.

Sara Kinney is with the Harris County District Attorney's office. She says, "Spring ISD did their own investigation before bringing it to us and any details will be in that investigation and we will go over those."

And we have those details from the probable cause - it shows a history behaving badly by Mr. West at Spring High.

The investigator said West had been investigated and warned in the past about his behavior around female students.

His secretary reported he would lock his office door for long periods of time with female students inside.

That secretary says those students would eventually emerge with their hair and clothes disheveled.

Staff also reported seeing West Body slam a female student in his office in a friendly way...

Also in court records students are reported as saying there is a sex tape showing West and a female student.

Parents on my Facebook page sounded off. One mother who has a student at Spring High says, "I pray so hard for my child and all of our children because they face so much daily. I had a talk with him about it when I got the call."

We went to West's home because prosecutors say he hasn't been arrested yet but there was no answer at the door where West lives with his family.

I also sent a message to West before he shut down his Facebook page but I did not get a response.
