Firefighters and Harris County Marine division divers are searching a northwest Harris County retention pond for a kayaker that went missing Saturday afternoon.
Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department spokesperson Robert Rasa says firefighters received a distress call around 2:30 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene finding the kayak capsized in the middle of the pond.
Two search boats and a DPS helicopter are assisting in the search.
According to Rasa, the pond is an old sand pit that was donated to the county and is part of a park that is under construction.
