A van crash into a heavy truck caused traffic problems into the evening rush hour for drivers in the Houston area and ended with one person dead.

Houston TranStar reported the accident at 3:22 p.m. Thursday on the 610 North Loop eastbound lanes near the Jensen Drive exit.

The accident investigation and clean-up lasted into rush hour with all the main lanes closed. Traffic was delayed from Jensen Drive to the North Shepherd Drive exit.
