Pay it forward: Pearland church gives away $50 dollar gift cards

PEARLAND, Texas (FOX 26) -

A church in Pearland is reaching out to the community by giving away 9-thousand dollars in free grocery gift cards.

The congregation says it is their way of paying it forward to the Pearland community. They raised the $9,000 dollars by making a few changes in their own lives in order to bring smiles to people they didn't know.

FOX 26's Andrea Watkins was live this morning at Crossroads Community Church for the giveaway.
