Seems like everyone's talking about a nurse at a California retirement community who refused to do CPR on an elderly, ailing resident.
87-year old Lorraine Bayless later died.
And the nurse's explanation? Performing CPR is against the rules at the Glenwood Gardens independent living facility in central California.
Turns out, residents must agree to the "no CPR" policy before they move in.
"The nursing homes and the institutional settings, they don't want any liability," explained Gay Nell Harper, with Texas Advocates for Nursing Home Residents. "And it doesn't matter if the person is dying or not."
Management at Glenwood Gardens say the nurse was just following procedure: she called paramedics and waited.
The incident has prompted local police to launch an investigation.
