Law enforcement officers arrest a student at a Tomball high school after they found a 20-gauge shotgun in his vehicle parked on campus.
Someone reported to a campus administrator that the weapon was possibly located in the vehicle. After they were contacted, officers immediately reacted and found the weapon, which was not loaded.
Officers confiscated the shotgun and arrested the student, who told officers that the weapon was not going to be used at the school, according to a statement released Thursday by Staci Stanfield, Director of Communications at Tomball Independent School District.
"We will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students," wrote Stanfield in the statement. "It is important for parents take a moment to remind their children about the importance of being alert and reporting any suspicious behavior, activities, or rumors to an adult on campus."
