NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -
When alternate side of the street parking rules are suspended on holidays in New York city, drivers still have to pay the meter.
But many people don't realize that. Some tell us it is a confusing policy that often results in them receiving tickets.

The councilman says he has bipartisan support for his bill, his office his office conceded that even if the bill makes it out of committee and passes the council, Mayor Mike Bloomberg would probably veto it.
