Houston woman ambushed and shot leaving a gym - Houston weather, traffic, news | FOX 26 | MyFoxHouston

A Northwest Houston woman is recovering after she was ambushed and shot as she was leaving a fitness center.

The woman told investigators she was walking out of the 24 Hr Fitness on Veterans Memorial and FM 1960 around 9PM when a man approached her.

The man grabbed her purse then shot her.

The suspect fled the scene.  FOX 26 Andrea Watkins spoke to people who visit the gym and more about how an officer was injured responding to help that woman.  Click on the above video to watch her report.
