Only on FOX, dozens of churches in southeast Houston have been targeted by thieves in the last three months. Now, members of the religious community say it is time for it to stop.
Houston police records show more than 30 churches in the Sunnyside area have been burglarized between October 2012 and January 2013.
Religious leaders say the thieves are stealing everything from electronics to air conditioning units.
Houston City Council member Wanda Adams has scheduled a town hall meeting on Tuesday to address the issue.
"There are churches across the street from one another that are actually being burglarized we have to watch out for one another the neighbors need to watch out if they see something call the Houston Police Department," says Adams.
The town hall meeting for those churches affected in Sunnyside will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church on 7817 Calhoun Road.
