KATY, Texas -

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office is seeking help from the public to find a man who tried to lure a teen boy into a pickup truck in the Katy area.

The 13-year-old boy was riding on his bicycle toward his home on Thursday, Jan. 31 around 6:30 p.m. when the man inside the truck approached him.

The incident was reported near Beck Junior High School in the intersection of Debra's Trace Lane and Oxford Bend Lane.

The boy rode away on the bicycle as fast as he could while the man drove away in the truck.

The driver of the pickup truck is described as a heavy Hispanic male, around 40 years old, with short thick black hair and a mustache. The boy said the driver also had a tattoo on his left cheek but could not describe the design in detail. The man wore a long-sleeve buttoned shirt with stripes.

The vehicle is described as an older model single-cab pickup truck, beige or brown in color with a dark-tinted rear window. The boy said there was a sticker on the back window, but he was not able to describe the wording on it.

Anyone with information about the truck or the incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Dispatch at 281-341-4665.
