A rude awakening for a family in Northeast Houston after a truck fleeing from police slammed into their home.
Five people were inside the home at the time, including 62 year old Dora Estrada, who was asleep in the front bedroom when the truck came slamming through the front of the home.
The impact caused the walls and roof to collapse on the woman, she had to crawl out through the debris.
She was treated for minor cuts at the scene.
The chase started after a motorist flagged down a police officer, just after 2 a.m., to report a pick up truck driving erratically without headlights.
Police attempted to pull over the truck on East Crosstimbers and East Hardy but the driver took off at a high rate of speed.
According to reports the driver lost control a short time later and slammed into the home.
The driver of that truck died at the scene.
