Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police are searching for the suspect who sexually assaulted a woman and stole her cell phone so that she couldn't call for help.

Authorities have surveillance video that shows the suspect dragging the victim into a Brooklyn alley, where he raped her and stole her phone so that she couldn't call anyone.

The suspect approached the 22-year-old victim around 9:45 a.m. Saturday near East 27th Street and Glenwood Road in the Midwood section. The suspect then forced the victim to walk through a building alley, where he assaulted her, according to police.

The crime took place about a block from Brooklyn College. The suspect told the victim he had a gun, but she never saw one.

The suspect also took the woman's cell phone and can be seen throwing what appears to be the phone over a cement wall moments after the attack.

The suspect is a Black man believed to be in his mid-20s, about 5'6" – 5'7" with a medium build and a bald head. He was last seen wearing a dark gray jacket, a white t-shirt, jeans and a blue New York Yankees cap.

Anyone with information in regards is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
