
Deputies are investigating a shooting outside a northwest Harris County check cashing store.
The shooting took place before 1 p.m. Friday at a shopping center on FM 1960 Road West near Perry Road.
The owner of the store was walking out of his vehicle and arriving to the business when someone threatened him with a gun and robbed him, according to a statement released by the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
During the altercation, the business owner was wounded but was able to fire his weapon toward the robber.
Deputies have not determined if the robber was shot.
The robber fled in a gold Buick Century.
The wounded store owner was taken by Life Flight medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Deputies are conducting a search for the robber.
