NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Nassau County police say they busted a dog fighting location while responding to a noise complaint.

It happened Friday night about 11 p.m. in New Cassel

Officers responded to 721 Broadway.  When they got there they found about 15-20 people running out of the garage.

Cops found a home made wooden dog fighting ring in the garage, containing two pit bulls in bloody, wounded condition.

They went into the house and found numerous dog crates throughout the house, two treadmills for training dogs and several bottles containing penicillin and steroids.

The Town of North Hempstead Department of Public Safety Animal Control  removed 18 pit bulls to the Town of North Hempstead Shelter.

No further information is available on the dogs' condition at this time.

Police arrested Monica Christopher, 38, who lives in the home.

Christopher is  facing animal fighting charges.  She was arraigned on Sunday, January 26, 2013 in Hempstead.
