HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
Believe it or not, tomorrow is another Election Day.
The race to replace late Texas Senator Mario Gallegos will determine the representation of more than 800,000 Texans in Austin.
Senate District 6 encompasses much of Houston's largely Hispanic East Side.
There are eight candidates vying for the position, although Texas Representative Carol Alvarado and former Harris County Commissioner Sylvia Garcia are considered the frontrunners and may be headed to a runoff.
There will be 143 polling places open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
