HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
The last of the "Dirty Half-Dozen" is now rubble.
Crews tore down the abandoned Aries Motel on Gladstone in Sunnyside. The building was one of six listed as the most blighted complexes in Houston.
"Tearing down this building means taking away the vacancy that once dwelled there, taking away the harbors for people that used drugs there, take away some of the prostitution that occurred there, taking away the crime that happened there."
Over the past three years, the city has demolished more than 1,000 abandoned homes and 1,100 apartment units.
