High school student charged in child pornography case

KATY, Texas -

A 17-year-old student in the Katy Independent School District has been arrested and charged with child pornography.

Kyle Boman, a junior at Morton Ranch High School, was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. He is in custody in Harris County jail.

Boman was arrested at his home on Wednesday night.

Steve Stanford, a spokesman for Katy ISD, told FOX 26 News that the images saved in his iPod Touch were of children of a wide variety of ages.

Administrators at Morton Ranch H.S. were informed about Boman on Jan. 15 through the Katy ISD Safety Net program.

Stranford said there was no evidence that any of the pictures were taken on campus, though a Katy ISD officer determined that nude images of juvenile female classmates were stored on the iPod Touch, according to a probable cause document filed against Boman.

Among the images were at least 15 of nude, pre-pubescent children in sexually provocative poses, according to the document.
