Police are looking for the suspect who stabbed one man to death and injured his female companion outside a northeast Houston motel.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday police were called to the Palace Inn, located in the 15700 block of the Eastex Freeway near Greens Road.
According to Houston police department spokesperson Kese Smith, a 45-year old man and unidentified woman were staying at the motel when they heard a commotion outside.
Smith says the woman looked out a window and saw the suspect, who she recognized,
letting the air out of the tires of two vehicles in the parking lot.
She told her male companion about what she saw and he confronted the suspect, says Smith.
Police say the suspect assaulted and stabbed the man multiple times and stabbed the female.
Two nearby witnesses intervened, tackled and held down the suspect. Smith says a third witness performed CPR on the male victim.
Meanwhile, police say the suspect managed to break free and fled in a silver Dodge crew cab pick-up truck with a blue tarp on the bed. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
The 45-year old male victim was transported to LBJ Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The identification of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The woman was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and was treated and released says Smith.
Police are asking anyone with information about this case to contact Homicide investigators at 713-308-3600.
