Pearland police have confirmed that officers have detained an 11-year-old boy after a fellow student reported hearing the boy say he would bring a gun to school on Thursday.
The boy, a 5th grade student at Rogers Middle School, was charged with terroristic threat and taken to BrazoriaCounty Juvenile Detention Facility.
Officers with the Pearland Police department conducted interviews with additional witnesses to confirm the report before they contacted the Brazoria County District Attorney's Office to approve the filing of the charge against the boy on Thursday.
The 11-year-old boy was not allowed to attend school on Thursday. He was detained by officers around 12 p.m. and taken to the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Facility in Angleton.
